Winter White

I have to admit I love classic winter neutrals.  I've been trying to mix it up a bit with the wardrobe partly because I'm tired of the all black winter blah.  This look is fresh and cozy and if you think that wearing white after Labor Day is a no-no, think again.  The only thing stopping me from throwing on my white jeans are my three-year-old's messy fingers.  So if you think you can stay somewhat stain free, I say go for it!  Pair the jeans with a warm camel sweater, scarf and suede boots and they become transformed-year round jeans.

Winter Favorites

It's soooo cold around here! We are enjoying our second day of no school due to the frigid temperatures.  The kids are thrilled and I am happy to sleep in and spend the days drinking hot chocolate.  My favorite recipe is here.  When I do venture out I make sure to bundle up and wear lotsa layers.  I just ordered this J Crew parka in heather dusk.  I love the fur hood.  My black Sorels are a must have too-they keep my feet warm and dry when I'm outside playing in the snow with the kids.  So thankful for our toasty home on days like this.  Hope you are keeping warm too!

Hostess With The Mostess

Happy Monday!  We had a very lazy weekend which doesn't happen very often.  It was really cold/windy around here so it was really nice to have that extra hour of cozy as well.  Now that  Halloween is ova it's time for me to pack up the decorations and get ready for the go, go, go of the next couple of months.  I start to freak out a little bit this time of year knowing that we have two birthdays in November, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and hubsy's birthday shortly after.  It's a whirlwind of crazy!  So I'm trying to get myself organized and with the holidays right around the corner it's important to have a few hostess gifts ready to give.  Parties are plentiful and it's so nice to have a gift in hand.  Here are some of my faves:

Fall Outfit Inspiration

Hope you had a wonderful weekend.  Our weekend was beautiful.  Perfect fall weather-crisp air and plenty of sunshine.  We spent lots of time outside playing, raking leaves and going to our 4th grader's last football game of the season.  So with all of that activity this time of year, I love effortless layering pieces when the mornings are cool and the afternoons warm up.  This tartan plaid scarf is super cute and you can grab one here for $16.99!  Amazing!!!!  I snatched This one up for myself to wear with my jacket from J Crew.  I love wearing suede booties this time of year as well.  As you may recall from this post.  Hope you enjoy these comfy fall picks and have a great start to your week.

Night Out

Hope you all had a great weekend.  We took several days and went to the lake to relax and spend some time with family. The kids had a blast with their cousins and we were all excited to   get away from routines.  Today I spent running to the grocery store, unpacking and lotsa laundry. I am looking forward to tonight when I am meeting up with some friends that I used to teach with for dinner in the city.  I just bought this Equipment dress that's perfect for summer going into fall.  Tonight I'm going to pair it with a denim jacket because the temps are supposed to be in the mid 60's.  I mean really…….Where's summer?  Hope your Monday is off to a great start!
