For the last week we have been watching our good friends' black lab puppy, Hunter while they are off skiing in Montana. It's been a long time since we've had a puppy in the house. Our Golden Retriever, Carlton is going to be 12 this summer. Ohhh how I love a puppy!!! I love the energy, playfulness, puppy groans and above all else, how almost overnight it has made our old man dog-young again. These two pups play and wrestle all day long and at night crash out on the floor-exhausted. All that puppy play calls for some major dog treats!!! And today we are making some.
Peanut Butter Dog Treats
1 Cup Flour
1/4 Cup Oatmeal
1/2 Teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 Cup Creamy Peanut Butter
1/2 Cup Milk
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine all dry ingredients in a medium bowl. Add the remainder of the ingredients and mix well until combined. Knead the dough into a large ball and roll out onto wax paper. Use cookie cutters or in my case a silicon baking mold. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Store in an air tight container or gallon zip lock bag.
Sweet Hunter
